Key signatures

The major scale on G (sol). Seven white keys and one that is not — the F (fá) has to be sharp, or the pattern breaks.

So a piece in G major has an F♯ (fá♯) in it. Not once: every F in the piece, in every bar, for as long as the music stays in that key.
