You can read five notes. Here is how close that is to finishing.

A staff holds eleven positions: five lines and four spaces, plus one just above and one just below. You have the bottom of it. Six more notes and there is nothing left on the treble staff you have not met.

Not six more things to memorise, though. That is the part worth getting right, and it is what the second half of this lesson is about.
