Finger numbers

Thumb 1, index 2, middle 3, ring 4, little finger 5. The same in both hands.

Because it is the same in both, the two hands run in opposite directions along the keyboard. Put them side by side and the thumbs meet in the middle.

So in the right hand, finger 1 is on the lowest note of its five and 5 is on the highest. In the left hand it is the other way round. Nothing else about causes as much trouble as this one sentence.
